Brooklyn hot spots

Brooklyn is the new Manhattan

In recent years, the Big Apple has experienced a resurgence, and much of that is due to the realization that New York is so much more than Manhattan. This is especially true for people who live in the city, as Manhattan has become a top spot for tourists. There’s plenty to see, and do in Manhattan which is what draws the tourists. But what if you live here? You don’t want to deal with the hustle and bustle of an influx of foreigners. Well, Brooklyn might be your place.

The draw for Brooklyn is it’s a city atmosphere, with the comfort of a small town. Shopping areas are tucked into residential sections, and everything you want to do is probably within walking distance. Additionally, everything thing you likely want to see in Manhattan, was probably created in Brooklyn. Not all of it, but a lot of it. So, be ahead of the curve and go check out a small venue show. They won’t want to admit it but if you removed Brooklyn, there would probably be a lot of Manhattanites roaming around, wondering why there is nothing to hear or see in their streets.

Brooklyn has even become a haven for celebrities who want to get away from the big city. Sarah Jessica Parker has said, “Manhattan’s not what it used to be. But the outer boroughs are pretty sexy.” Not sure Carrie Bradshaw would have felt that way, but we’ll take the vote of confidence from SJP! Manhattan is still a great place, and in the tourists’ eyes, will probably always be the golden child of NYC. That’s fine, everyone knows the rebel is having more fun.
